Dr. Edan M. Alcalay, Psy.D

Chief Psychologist/Founder

Dr. Edan M. Alcalay received his Doctorate and Masters degree in Clinical Child Psychology  at Albizu University in Miami, Florida.  He also has received advanced training from the Florida Psychoanalytic Center (FPC). He is also a Qualified Supervisor,  board member at Florida Psychological Association (FPA), conducts clinical research on developmental issues and is an Adjunct Faculty at Lynn University.

Emily Deem, M.S.
Registered Mental Health Intern/Therapist

Emily received her Graduate Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University. Throughout her practicum and internship experience at Tomorrow’s Rainbow, she worked with children, teens, and families processing trauma and grief. Emily was educated in supporting victims of human trafficking and was trained in utilizing the Dougy Center support group model.

 

Upon graduation, she continued her work at Tomorrow’s Rainbow as the Bereavement Services Coordinator overseeing and facilitating children, teen, and adult grief support groups as well as facilitating a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support group. Emily also has expertise in training facilitators for grief support groups. Emily is currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern and has extensive experience treating individuals who suffer from adverse childhood experiences including trauma and bereavement.

 

Emily is Eagala certified in treating individuals who have experienced a sudden traumatic death of a significant individual utilizing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Emily focuses on implementing a trauma informed approach when addressing her clients. Emily has attended various trainings, seminars, and workshops surrounding the use of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma informed approaches to building resilience in children, Play Therapy and Sandtray, pregnancy and infant loss support, well as Psychological First Aid and Disaster Mental Health through the Red Cross.

 

Emily is also an Adjunct Faculty at Lynn University and enjoys bringing a “real life” approach of psychology to her students.  Emily is a vibrant, caring individual who values empathic understanding and connection within her practice.

Ashley Magaraci, M.S.
Registered Mental Health Intern/Therapist

As a mental health counseling intern, Ashley specializes in grief, bereavement, loss, and trauma.  She is passionate about working with children, teens, and adults. It is her joy to support the client to grow in empathy and manage their anxiety and depression that results from the loss of a loved one. She can teach anger management techniques, relaxation skills, impulse control skills, social skills, emotional coping skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, listening skills, and conflict resolution skills. With families she works with the parents to implement consistent behavior techniques at home.

 

Ashley is from Long Island, New York, and moved to south Florida to study at Florida Atlantic University, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology. She then earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University. In 2018, the death of her sorority sister left her grieving as she moved forward with her career. 

 

Ashley is certified in neuroscience for clinicians regarding brain change from stress, anxiety, trauma moods, and substance abuse. She is Eagala certified and has utilized Equine Assisted Psychotherapy with her clients. She was trained in the neurobiology of trauma and grief and is certified in Traumatic Incident Resolution therapy where she has worked with individuals experiencing concerns from childhood adverse experiences. Her goal is to help clients transition to a happy and healthy life.
